Libraries in 17th to 19th cen help

I'm doing a general research for the time being. I have found a few books on history of engineering libraries/libraries in the India and Karnataka but what I am looking for now is references in novels (if you know of any please let me know!!) and online as I hope this will help narrowing down the research
