University of Illinois Open Archives Initiative Metadata Harvesting Project: "The Library of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) has created and implemented a suite of Open Archives Initiative (OAI)-based metadata harvesting services, search services, and tools designed to facilitate discovery and retrieval of certain classes of scholarly works, thereby making visible portions of the currently 'hidden' Web of scholarly information resources. This work is complementary with and carried on in concert with a related project conducted by the University of Michigan Digital Library Extension Service."
